All classes will be run by Tara Cunningham. Tara has studied training in both horses and dogs and is passionate about behavior, psychology, and training. She has helped many dogs on the brink of being euthanized for behavioral reasons become adoptable pets that are now in loving homes. She studied and completed many training programs in both equine and canine training.
Her program is centered on using a behavioral approach to help dogs learn and understand what is being asked of them quickly. This approach helps owners to better understand the way their dog views the world and uses psychology to help eliminate unwanted behaviors. Tara stresses structured exercise and creating rules and boundaries to create and strengthen the human animal bond.

Training options
The 1-day jump start included one on one training with Tara to begin the training exercises. She will keep your dog for a half-day session where she begins to lay the foundation that is key to helping your dog’s training. The 1-day jump start session gives your dog a head- start for consultation and training sessions in your own home. This approach gives Tara the opportunity to assess your dog’s behavior in a neutral setting and makes the learning process easier for you and your dog.
Note: This is not a quick fix! Even though many dogs are greatly changed after just 1- day of training, the consistency, and follow through of the owner is what makes this option create lasting results.
1 Day Jump Start includes: Day training with Tara, lesson with owner, training leash, and 1-2 follow ups (these will occur at owner’s home and or public areas for dogs ready for more exposure).
Cost: $225
Tara uses a method called “E-Touch”. A way of using collar, voice, and long line to attain a strong understanding of what the word “HERE” and “COME ON” mean. This is meant to increase communication at a further distance no matter what else is around us (deer, cars, other dogs etc.).
Note: Dogs must complete the 1- day jump start with follow ups before continuing on to E-collar training
Certificate: Certification of completion; “Martin Deeley’s International School for dog Trainers: 5-day course in E-Touch Training”
Puppy Classes
The Balanced Pup- “Creating a balanced foundation for a successful future”
This class is for puppies between the age of 8-16 weeks. It focuses on proper socialization and building trust and respect between pup and owner.
Between 8-16 weeks is a puppy’s prime socialization period. How we approach this time is crucial. Due to the fears of contracting parvo, owners are discouraged from taking their pups to any public places or socializing with unknown dogs.
We understand this concern but are also well aware of the devastating outcome of poorly socialized dogs. Either by not socializing enough or doing it in the wrong way, overwhelming a puppy and creating fear.
Our goal is to provide the safest environment for pups to build positive and lasting social skills.
First 15 minutes of class; Social time. Remainder goes over 1 new lesson each week (walking, calm down cue, staying on spot, etc.)
This course consists of 1 class weekly for 4 weeks.
Cost: $125
Note: Owner must present current vaccine history as puppy ages and a negative fecal test (checking for parasites) before 1st class
This is for pups just shy of the socializing age cut off. 16 weeks to 8 months. Also, a great continuation for those finishing social classes
Each week we cover the same lessons that we started in socialization. Walking, staying on spot, structured play and more
This course includes 1 class each week for 4 weeks
Cost: $125-
