Come practice at the top of your license.
Serving animals. Caring for people. Treating your pet like they’re our own.
We’re looking for a Washington Licensed Veterinary Technician who wants more than a job. We want someone who wants to use their skills, keep growing, make a difference, and be an essential part of the medical team.
At RVAC, a technician isn’t simply there to “help the doctor.” You’re a veterinary medical professional with a scope of practice that we believe should be utilized.
We believe great veterinary medicine happens when every member of the team is trusted, trained, supported, and empowered to contribute at the highest level of their abilities.
Our hospital is busy. You’ll have wellness appointments alongside urgent cases, hospitalized patients, procedures, dentistry, anesthesia, and emergencies. No two days look exactly alike and that’s part of what makes this work rewarding.
What you’ll get to do:
Depending on your training, competency, and the level of veterinary supervision required under Washington law, our LVTs may participate in:
Anesthesia & Surgery
– Induction and maintenance of anesthesia
– Monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients
– IV catheter placement
– Blood and blood-product administration
– Local anesthetic blocks, peripheral nerve blocks, and epidurals
– Closure/suturing of prepared skin wounds or gingival incisions
– Cast, splint, and sling placement
Dentistry
– Comprehensive dental prophylaxis
– Dental radiography
– Anesthesia and patient monitoring throughout dental procedures
Diagnostics & Patient Care
– Venipuncture and sample collection
– Cystocentesis
– Fine-needle aspiration
– Diagnostic imaging
– Cytology, urine sediment, basic hematology, fecal analysis, and urinalysis
– Blood-pressure measurement
– ECG measurement
– Tonometry, fluorescein staining, and tear-production testing
– Urinary catheter placement in unobstructed patients
Treatments & Emergency Medicine
– Medication and fluid administration as directed by the veterinarian
– IM, SQ, IV, and other legally permitted injections
– Vaccination under appropriate veterinary supervision
– Emergency stabilization and basic life support
– CPR and first aid
– Hands-on nursing care for sick and hospitalized patients
And just as importantly:
You’ll educate clients.
You’ll advocate for patients.
You’ll notice the subtle change that tells us something isn’t right.
You’ll comfort scared animals.
You’ll help frightened owners understand what’s happening.
You’ll teach newer team members.
You’ll make doctors better.
You’ll make the entire hospital better.
That’s what great veterinary technicians do.
