Dr. Brittany Carlson grew up in Helena, Montana and attended Carroll College, where she played softball and earned her degree in Anthrozoology, the study of the human-animal bond. She has always felt called to work with people and their pets, which led her to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Washington State University. Dr. Carlson was married prior to starting veterinary school, and with her husband being a Clarkston native, it felt like a natural fit to make the area home after graduation.
Her professional interests include preventative medicine, surgery, and integrative and rehabilitation medicine. She enjoys helping pets stay healthy long-term and values being part of their care from prevention through recovery. Whether she’s working through a new diagnosis or helping a patient regain comfort and mobility, her goal is always to improve quality of life. Dr. Carlson places a strong emphasis on communication and building trust with her clients. She wants pet owners to feel comfortable asking questions, having honest conversations, and feeling supported during stressful or emotional situations. She takes pride in creating a welcoming environment through simple but meaningful interactions, like making eye contact, offering a handshake, and maintaining an approachable friendly presence.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Carlson enjoys spending time outdoors with her two dogs, golfing with her husband, and visiting the mountains of Montana whenever she can. She is excited to begin her career at Riverview Animal Clinic and looks forward to building relationships with both clients and their pets!
