Remember when your kids were young and they needed a little extra medical care to make sure that nothing went wrong? Just like human children, puppies and kittens need a little extra care. They are more prone to devastating consequences from disease so they require more frequent physical examinations. They also need vaccines, and vaccine boosters, along with deworming and other care (as needed) to make sure that they start off healthy and ready to grow. In addition, it is very important to begin a discussion with your veterinarian regarding proper diet, spaying/neutering and microchipping so that your puppy or kitten will continue to receive the care it needs as it matures. At Riverview Animal Clinic we are dedicated to making sure that your new family member is healthy at every life stage.

And remember when your kids were young and they needed a little extra guidance and discipline to make sure that they grew to be productive and happy family members? Puppies and kittens are the same! In fact, puppy and kitten behavior training is just as important as the medical assessments and treatments because, sadly, the number one reason that dogs and cats are relinquished to shelters or ‘dumped’ on the streets is because they had ‘bad’ behavior and did not fit into the family. Don’t let that happen to your new puppy or kitten! Start behavior training early so that your puppy or kitten can become a fun, happy and well-behaved part of the family.
